# Docker & Kubernetes monitoring in one container — Maintenant > Unified monitoring for Docker and Kubernetes. One container, zero config, total visibility, and a built-in MCP server for your AI agents. Maintenant is a self-hosted, single-binary monitoring tool for Docker and Kubernetes by kOlapsis SAS. Its core is open source under Apache 2.0, and the code behind the paid features is source-available under the Maintenant Commercial Source License; this site sells and distributes license keys. It comes in three editions, in order: Community (free, Apache 2.0, any use including commercial), Personal (one-time purchase, one person on their own infrastructure, one year of updates included) and Pro (subscription, for use on behalf of an employer, a team or clients, with support). Community covers containers, endpoints, heartbeats, certificates, the public status page and the full Swarm and Kubernetes views. Its ceilings are on what you add by hand: containers are never counted, and endpoints and certificate monitors declared through Docker labels or Kubernetes annotations are never refused and never counted. Personal lifts those ceilings, monitors up to 20 remote machines, and adds email and Telegram alerts, CVE enrichment, risk scoring, security posture, incidents, changelog, resource history, advanced trigger filters and OCSP stapling. Pro adds unlimited machines, Slack and Teams, escalation policies, per-entity routing, maintenance windows, status page subscribers and branding. A full plain-text dump of every page is available at [/llms-full.txt](https://maintenant.dev/llms-full.txt). ## Site - [Home](https://maintenant.dev/): Unified monitoring for Docker and Kubernetes. One container, zero config, total visibility, and a built-in MCP server for your AI agents. - [Pricing](https://maintenant.dev/pricing/): The three editions compared, feature by feature. Personal is a one-time payment that never expires; Pro bills monthly or yearly. - [Checkout](https://maintenant.dev/checkout/): Buy Personal outright, or subscribe to Pro. Card, Apple Pay and Google Pay via Stripe; iDEAL, Bancontact and SEPA also accepted. - [Video](https://maintenant.dev/video/): An 80-second narrated tour of Maintenant, the Docker and Kubernetes monitoring tool that runs in a single container. - [Account](https://maintenant.dev/account/): Manage an existing license key and, for Pro, the subscription. - [GitHub](https://github.com/kOlapsis/maintenant): Source code for Maintenant (Apache 2.0 core, source-available paid features). - [Docs](https://docs.maintenant.dev): External documentation site for installation and configuration. ## Alternatives & comparisons - [Beszel Alternative: Unified Docker Monitoring in One Container](https://maintenant.dev/alternatives/alternative-beszel/): Beszel is excellent at host and container resource stats. It does not probe endpoints, track TLS expiry, watch cron jobs or detect image drift. Where the two diverge. - [Netdata Alternative: Lightweight Docker Monitoring in One Container](https://maintenant.dev/alternatives/alternative-netdata/): Netdata wins on per-second host metrics. Maintenant covers containers, endpoints, SSL, cron and image updates in one container that idles under 30 MB. An honest comparison. - [Prometheus + Grafana Alternative for Docker Monitoring](https://maintenant.dev/alternatives/alternative-prometheus-grafana/): Prometheus, Grafana, cAdvisor, node-exporter, Alertmanager and Blackbox is six components. For a small stack, one container answers the same questions. When each wins. - [Self-Hosted Datadog Alternative for Docker and Kubernetes](https://maintenant.dev/alternatives/alternative-datadog/): Datadog lists at $15 per host per month before add-ons, and your telemetry lives on their servers. What self-hosting actually costs you in features — and what it does not. - [Uptime Kuma Alternative With Full Container Monitoring](https://maintenant.dev/alternatives/alternative-uptime-kuma/): Uptime Kuma probes endpoints brilliantly but cannot see inside your containers. Maintenant adds auto-discovery, resource metrics and image drift in one container. ## Blog - [Docker Monitoring Without Prometheus: A Practical Guide](https://maintenant.dev/blog/docker-monitoring-without-prometheus/): You don’t need Prometheus to monitor Docker containers. Here’s how to get full visibility into your Docker stack without PromQL, exporters, or YAML config files. - [Lightweight Docker Monitoring for Homelab](https://maintenant.dev/blog/homelab-docker-monitoring/): The best monitoring setup for homelab Docker stacks: lightweight, self-hosted, zero config, and under 30 MB of RAM. No cloud dependencies. - [Self-Hosted Monitoring in 2026: The Single Binary Approach](https://maintenant.dev/blog/self-hosted-monitoring-single-binary/): The monitoring landscape has shifted. Self-hosted single-binary tools now rival SaaS platforms for small-to-medium Docker stacks.
